This course prepares the graduate to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing by covering areas beginning with basic patient care and progressing to team nursing in long-term care facilities. To enter the program, the following requirements are necessary:
successful completion of the ATS assessment Test, CPR certification and a physical examination are required prior to admission. student must purchase textbooks, uniforms, liability insurance, and pay a state and national exam and graduation fee. Instruction is in clinical rotations at area hospitals and nursing homes as well as the classroom. Transportation is the student's responsibility. A 76% grade is required to advance through the program. Employment Opportunities: LPN in hospital, clinic,

Note: The Kansas State Board of Nursing may deny licensure to persons who have been guilty of a misdemeanor involving an illegal drug offences unless the applicant or licensee establishes sufficient rehabilitation to warrant the public trust (KSA 65-1120), except that notwithstanding KSA 74-120, no license, certificate of qualification or authorization to practice nursing as a licensed professional nurse, as a license practical nurse, as an advance registered nurse practitioner, or registered nurse anesthetist shall be granted to a person with a felony conviction for a crime against persons as specified in articled 34 of chapter 21 of the Kansas Statures Annotated and acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. |
