Kansas City Kansas Community College’s women equaled their best start in recent years by rolling to a 72-55 win over Missouri Valley’s JV Tuesday.
The win boosted KCKCC’s record to7-1 heading into a home conference contest with Haskell’s JV Monday at 5 p.m. before the Lady Blue Devils swing into Jayhawk Conference play at Highland Wednesday at 5 p.m. and at home against Labette at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.
Former Piper standout Michelle Selbe continued her early season scoring surge, scoring 19 points, corralling six rebounds and handing out five assists. Selbe now has 58 points in her last three games including 26 of 27 free throws.
Alyssa Rushton and Ashley Wham came off the KCKCC bench to add 13 and 10 points respectively while Shannon Carlin added 9 and Sarah Craft 8. Craft, Laci Schreiber and Jerae David added five rebounds each while Craft also had five assists. The Blue Devils, who led 40-30 at the half, were 28 of 58 from the field for 48.3 percent.
